What is Oxygen Therapy?

Oxygen therapy is a treatment used to increase the amount of oxygen available to our lungs and delivered to our tissues through our bloodstream. Oxygen Therapy May Help:

  • Reduce COPD Complications & Symptoms
  • Improves Quality of Life, Sleep & Mood

You might feel anxious or scared, and unsure of the next step. At RHS we have Registered Respiratory Therapists who will come to your home, and guide you through the whole process. Oxygen Therapy Equipment

One of our Respiratory Therapists will come to your home and set you up with equipment that will deliver oxygen therapy as prescribed by your physician. You will be set up with a concentrator which is a machine that can be plugged into the wall, and will deliver oxygen at a set flow. A long, small hose connected to the concentrator will be attached to nasal cannula. Oxygen will flow through your nose, into your airway and down into your lungs. When you are leaving your house, you will use an oxygen cylinder or a portable oxygen concentrator, with a regulator that will deliver the prescribed oxygen flow in the same manner as your home concentrator.
